Lesson
Reflection across the x-axis changes the sign of the y-coordinate while keeping the x-coordinate unchanged. A point (x, y) becomes (x, −y). Similarly, reflecting across the y-axis changes the sign of the x-coordinate: (x, y) becomes (−x, y). These transformations help visualize how points move on the coordinate plane under reflection.
Learning objectives
Understand reflection in coordinate axes in the Reflection chapter.
Connect the idea with formulas, examples, and exam-style questions.
Use flashcards, notes, MCQs, and LAQs to check readiness.
