The median of grouped data lies within a ‘median class’, which is identified using cumulative frequency. Once the median class is found, the median is calculated using the formula: Median = l + [(n/2 − CF) / f] × h, where l is the class boundary, CF is cumulative frequency before the median class, f is the class frequency, and h is the class width.
