Lesson
In direct proportion, two quantities increase or decrease together so that their ratio remains constant. For example, the cost of apples increases in direct proportion to the number of kilograms purchased. In inverse proportion, one quantity increases while the other decreases in such a way that their product remains constant—as seen in problems involving speed and time or workers and days.
Learning objectives
Understand direct, inverse, and applications in the Ratio and Proportion chapter.
Connect the idea with formulas, examples, and exam-style questions.
Use flashcards, notes, MCQs, and LAQs to check readiness.
