Lesson
The sum of the first n terms of an AP is given by Sₙ = n/2 [2a + (n − 1)d]. This formula allows the quick calculation of long sums without writing the entire sequence. For example, the sum of the first 20 terms of the AP 2, 5, 8,… is found using a = 2 and d = 3.
Learning objectives
Understand applications of ap in the Arithmetic Progression chapter.
Connect the idea with formulas, examples, and exam-style questions.
Use flashcards, notes, MCQs, and LAQs to check readiness.
